About Us

Weeks & Gowen Physical Therapy Associates, Inc. is a small private practice in Charlestown, N.H. established in 1990 by Al Weeks and Clare Gowen. The partners opened their practice to provide the highest level of physical therapy to the rural communities of the Connecticut River Valley.

Clare took over the practice in 2000 and continues to provide individualized treatment, focusing on the wellness of the whole patient.

Owner, Physical Therapist

Told she didn’t have the grades to get into a top notch physical therapy program, Clare worked in the field, first as a volunteer and later as a Physical Therapist Assistant. But that wasn’t enough.

Bucking the nay-sayers, Clare was the young mother of a two year old when she chose to pursue her original dream of studying physical therapy at the prestigious University of Connecticut.

She graduated summa cum laude, second in her class. Shortly after, she opened Weeks & Gowen Physical Therapy Associates, Inc. with Al Weeks in September 1990.

In 2000, Clare bought her partner’s share of the business and continued to build the practice in depth and breadth, introducing additional modalities to enhance treatment outcomes for her patients.
